What's new

CountProof ships continuously. Everything here is live in the product.

The grouping question, asked up-front — and a Help page

If your business is grouped with related entities for payroll tax, the dashboard now asks once and keeps an honest warning in view, because standalone figures understate a group's liability. Plus: a Help page answering the ten questions pilots actually ask, a clear explainer when a month has no posted pay runs, and a 'provisional' marker whenever decisions are still outstanding.

Every figure now shows its working, right on the dashboard

Expand any state to see the full derivation — wages, the apportioned deduction, taxable portion, rate, surcharges — with a link to the official rate source. Plus a proper navigation bar so all six screens are one click away.

A calmer, clearer CountProof

The whole product moved to a light, ledger-style design: figures in a monospaced face so columns line up, accountant conventions like parenthesised negatives and double-ruled totals, and anything awaiting your call flagged in amber. Same figures, easier to read — on screen and in print.

Portable LSL now covers 7 schemes across VIC, NSW and QLD

Beyond VIC PLSA: NSW community services (CSI) and contract cleaning (CCI), and QLeave community services and contract cleaning — every levy rate verified against the official source, including QLeave cleaning's 1 July cut to 0.5%.

All 8 payroll-tax jurisdictions verified against official sources

The last one (NT) was confirmed from the Territory Revenue Office's own guide, with their worked examples now part of our test suite. Strict mode means we show a figure only when its rate has been verified — never a guess.

South Australia calculations corrected before anyone relied on them

Our deep check against RevenueSA's official examples caught that SA's deduction is capped at $600,000 — separate from the $1.5M threshold. Fixed and locked in with their own worked example as a permanent test.

Annual reconciliation view

See the July position all year: actual FY wages per state, liability versus the instalments that fell due, and whether you're heading for a payable or a refund — with the June no-return months handled correctly.

Disconnect now erases everything, instantly

Disconnecting an organisation revokes the Xero connection and immediately deletes every mapping, override and scheme record we hold for it. No retention window, no residue.

15 August 2026

Employee state overrides with an audit trail

Where someone works in a different state than they live, set their payroll-tax state explicitly — your decision is timestamped and outranks the address, and the figures re-apportion instantly.

14 August 2026

Live multi-state payroll tax from your Xero data

Connect once, get monthly liability per state with correct threshold apportionment, phase-outs, surcharges and due dates — every figure traceable to its government source.
